Multiple Licences

Hello all...

Today, I purchased Norton 360 Deluxe, downloaded the software and activated the subscription. It was a good price. I went through the newly-installed software, decided I liked it but it was only for a year. I decided I needed at least 3 years at this price lest I be forced to pay a higher price once the sale was over. So, I purchased two more licenses at the price offered with the idea that I could turn the subscription from a year into 3 years. I had hoped the site would recognise I already had a 1 year subscription add a year to my subscription with the additional license purchases. So, I activated the second license. Nope. I now have 2 subscriptions for THE SAME DEVICES. In effect, I paid TWICE for the same product protecting the same devices for the exact same period of a single year. Both licenses have the same activation date and the same expiry date, yet both are protecting exactly the same devices. I in effect handed my money to Norton for nothing.

Any ideas how to get out of this predicament? Otherwise, I have lost money for nothing.

Glad you got it sorted.

Thanks for posting back.

The multiple subscriptions were not for more devices, but more time. I had purchased 3 different licenses, one license each for one year. I felt the deal for the 360 Deluxe was a good deal after purchasing and activating a subscription for a 1 year license. Upon trying it, I decided that the deal was good enough to purchase two more licenses, each with the same 1 year license. This would mean a saving for 3 years. I then decided, after having activated the first, original license, that I should purchase two more licenses and activate them. I activated the second license, expecting Norton would append them to my existing new 1 year subscription, thus turning it into a 2 year subscription. Norton did no such thing, thus creating two licenses for the same devices, with both licenses having the same activation and expiry date. I was, in effect, paying for two subscriptions for a single year to cover the same devices, paying double. It is why I held back activating my third license. I posted here, hoping for help until, upon some deep digging, discovered a way to chat with Norton Support who easily assisted me with the issue. A Norton representative merged all 3 licenses into a single license, which is what I wanted from the beginning. The representative knew this immediately and quickly made the changes. I now have 3 years of coverage rather than paying for 3 years whilst only being covered for a year. The number of devices covered was an irrelevancy since all 3 licenses were identical.

I do thank you for your help. I did exactly as you described before I even saw your response. I did not expect Norton's assistance to be so great when one considers the experiences I have had regarding such customer support. Not a single problem was had other than digging to find out how to chat with a live human.

Norton would have no way of knowing that you may have needed multiple subscriptions to protect more devices. That is why each subscription is started when purchased.

To resolve this you need to contact Norton Support and ask them to combine the subscriptions into one.   www.norton.com/contactcs   If using the chat function, as soon as you can enter any information, enter "agent please". That will get you out of the chat bot and connected to a human.
