Why is it that I can pay for norton ultimate, but if i keep getting hit to pay for other individual things like dark web protection, selling info protection, etc. Like ultimate package should cover everything. May be time to move on
Hello @Joshua_Kuykendall
norton utilities ultimate, which apparently isn’t very ultimate
Hello @Joshua_Kuykendall
Ah, okay — Norton Utilities Ultimate is a different product line from Norton 360 with LifeLock. The “Ultimate” there refers to the PC optimization suite, not an all-inclusive Norton subscription. That’s probably why you’re still seeing offers for identity/privacy services like dark web monitoring or info-removal protection.
Norton Utilities Ultimate is mainly the tune-up/cleanup product. It doesn’t include all the identity and privacy services bundled with Norton 360 + LifeLock tiers, even though the “Ultimate” naming makes that easy to misunderstand.

Part of the frustration is that many modern security products also function as marketing platforms inside the app itself. Even after subscribing, users still see recommendations for additional services, upgrades, trials, or partner features. Norton isn’t unique there — a lot of consumer security companies do the same thing now.
Another issue is that the Norton interface increasingly promotes additional services from within the product itself. So even paid users can feel like they’re constantly being upsold, which reinforces the impression that no package is ever truly “complete.”
Norton has created a very segmented product ecosystem where features are spread across multiple subscriptions and add-ons. That naturally leads to confusion when products use names like “Ultimate,” “Premium,” or “Advanced,” yet still promote additional paid services inside the product.
Security software used to be an antivirus product. Now every company wants an “ecosystem” — security, identity protection, VPN, cloud backup, privacy tools, driver updater, optimizer, browser extensions, monitoring services, and partner offerings all under one account.
“Ecosystem” is the industry-friendly way of saying companies want customers staying inside a growing set of recurring services and subscriptions.
Just curious — what led you to Norton Utilities Ultimate originally? Was it bundled with another Norton subscription, or were you mainly looking for PC cleanup/optimization tools?
Also wondering what you’re currently using for security protection overall.
Are you also running Norton 360?

Part of the challenge with modern software ecosystems is that persistent in-product marketing can blur the line between genuinely essential protection and optional convenience features. Over time, users may feel they need tools they otherwise would never have gone looking for independently.
Norton offerings aren’t identical worldwide, so included features can differ depending on your region and exact subscription.
norton 360/ norton utilities ultimate and norton driver… /sigh maybe i’ll cancel these and look at lifelock
Oh okay…so three Norton subscriptions – and Norton wants to sell you a fourth?
If you want to do yourself a huge favor drop all subscriptions except for Norton 360.
You will save money, time spent running unnecessary software and headaches from software giving you problems. Norton 360 without any Lifelock programs is all you need.
