My account has been hacked, my profile pic replaced with porn, Norton never detected anything

As I describe on the Windows Live forums my Windows Live Messenger has been hijacked by someone replacing my picture and personal message with porn while soliciting credit card info from my friends. During the whole ordeal all Norton 360 detected were tracking cookies !!!

At first I thought it had to be somoene I knew, to be able to guess my password twice. But after I posted, at least 3 other users posted having the same problem, so it seems more widespread than just me having a cyberstalker.

Here is a good summary of it

I have the same problem as Kila01. Each time I log-in I get the message that I am logged-in multi places and one of the location is supposedly HOME-PC and yet I do not have a computer that's named Home-PC. My name gets changed automaticallty to some other name , sometimes to "GirlCam" as mentioned by KILA01 and sometimes it is replaced by other names and where I normaly have a message for my contacts to see, that info is replaced by a link to a pornwebsite. I have changed password and the security level in my profile but I stll have the same problem. In fact several times while I was  actually making the changes to my profile it looks like I got hacked and the message pops up saying that I am again logged in at multiple locations and it normally list HOME-PC as the other location.

I have managed to stop the picture changes and personal message changes and i haven't seen someone else signed on for a day. But this was only after I ran Norton Power Eraser, Malaware Bytes and installed Zone Alarm.

You may want to fix Norton 360's detection of this virus. It was pretty uselless during the ordeal. Kudos on Power Eraser though. Either NPE or Malaware Bytes finally got rid of the virus!
