I ran a ports scan on grc and it says that I failed due to my comp. replying to the icmp echo ping that it sent out. Is there anyway to block this ping? Thanks.
Welcome to the Norton Community
If you are using a router you can block it there.
Ok, I got into the settings for this router dlink dir825 and I could not find where I can block the ping. I contacted dlink. Who knows how long it will take for them to get back to me. Thanks
If you go into your Router in Advanced Setting you will see an item related to Ping from the WAN i.e. Internet. Set it to not respond.
I tried that, and it didnt work. I tried to send a screen shot of what setting I changed, but I couldn’t send it. What kind of ext. is text.log? I use snagit for screen shots.

Your router is the place to stop the ping responses. Look into the user guide for your router (will probably be on the installation CD/DVD) and that has a section on pings and how to block them.
Hello wily5150,
Forum Guru SendOfJive previously posted a rather detailed explanation regarding the use and interpretation of Leak Tests here.
I think you will find it to be quite informative.
Thanks Phil_D, That cleared things up abit.
