My desktop will not recognize any of the new HDD i have bought

@RichardT McBride If you can provide the exact model and the manufacturer of your computer I can look up what HD types are supported as suggested before. FWIW!! If you have the HD installed, the power up into your BIOS and its not showing there. There are several things that could be causing it. Most likely the system BIOS isn't correctly set, OR the BIOS itself should be updated. Again, give us the the computer model and maker so we can look at a few things for you. If the BIOS doesn't recognize the HD there isn't any way Windows will see it to assign a drive letter whether or not it has been formatted prior to installation.

Hi Richard,

It is possible that the new drives have been detected, just not assigned a drive letter: https://digitaltoolbag.com/how-make-a-hard-drive-visible-in-windows-10/

Have the new drives been initialized yet?

Hello Richard. What is the manufacturer and model of your desktop? I can look into some information regarding your BIOS settings which may help you with the issue you are having. Also. Did you have an infection or ransomware that prompted the HDD replacement or was it due to age of the HDD?
