My laptop has slowed down

I bought Norton 360 online and installed it about a week and a half ago.  Since then, my laptop has slowed to a maddening pace.  I have to sit and wait and wait and wait and wait etc while a program or browser loads.  Is there a fix or should I just uninstall Norton?  I had totally expected Norton to clean up my files and speed up my laptop but instead, its just way worse.

Did you have any non Norton security software did you have installed before installing Norton? If so, did you fully remove it using the removal utility for that software?

Go to settings and shut off the automatic protection temporarily. See if this makes a difference.
