My NIS is NOT really "active" a.k.a "dumb"

Hello.

NIS 2014 v21.0.2.1

Latest def update : 10/12/2013

Already did new fresh install on 2 PC : win 7 ultimate x64 and XP Pro SP3

I'm using TRIAL 15 days first to activate

And AS USUAL, the virus def from the installer is quite old, 58 DAYS ago

But well, the NIS can't detect its old def and still showing GREEN save color

Even when i restarted the PC, its still green

I've already tested on many PC before

Even if that "state" then updated with the latest virus def, yes the color is green though

But, the virus protection is not really that "active", not "self aware", dumb, hung or whatever you say

So i'm doing a little test using a virus (or trojan) i've found on Recycler folder from my infected flashdisk before

I've updated that "dumb" NIS to latest virus def

Then scanning that .EXE file from the Recycler folder

And yep, my though is proofed

NIS is "dumb" and can't detect that trojan even its an old one

Then i upload it to VirusTotal

From there almost ALL AV detect that

Even Symantec detect it as Trojan.Gen

But this "dumb" NIS can't

In my experience, to get the NIS really "active" and not "dumb" like this, I MUST WAIT IT SELF AWARE TO ACTIVE

Means, after installing it on a new PC, don't activate it and don't update the virus def first.

Just wait until it "self aware" and detecting itself that has OLD virus def

And result in changing that green bar into red bar

Thats what i called really "Active"

And then updating it with new virus def

And scanning that Recycler Trojan so sure can identify it

So my big question is :

How can this works like that?

Is there a way to "bypass" those waiting time to get "self aware" ?

Its really pain in the butt tho wait it "active"

Sometime need hours

And sometime need days

How can i get it "self aware" directly without waiting it?

Waiting for the reply.

Big regards.

Radit.
