I have tried taking the device off, logging in from my NIS, and it still shows up as "trial"
I have also gotten the "trial expired" message and norton shuts down, then I reinstall and it shows me as having a year long subscription, but in a day or so, it gives me the same message and I need to reinstall. I am assuming the two issues are linked in some mway
You can try clicking on Support - Subscription Status from the main NIS page to sync your product with the subscription servers.
Do you now or have you ever had another security program on your computer? If so, you will have to remove it with the removal tool for that program. That could be interfering with the subscription status.
Do you have more than one product listed in your Norton Account at www.account.norton.com ? As you enter a product key it is registered with your Norton Account. When that one expires and you add another key, you will now have 2 entries listed in your Norton Account. And so on, and so on.
When checking your Norton Account, you need to look for one that is not expired, and shows a yellow Download button. If you uninstall NIS again and reboot the computer, then click on the Download button, it will download and install a preactivated copy of your product.

ThanksThanks. I tried the syncing thingandi did not resolve the issue. I recently had a version of mcafee show up andi a wondering if that's drivingthings.
As to youI last suggestiononly only have the current version.
Thanks again. Uninstalling McAfee did the trick. I have no idea how it got onto there, but I will take it. :-)
Glad to hear things are working again.
If you upgrade your Adobe Flash Player, it offers to install a McAfee scanner. If you do not see that in time and uncheck the option, you get that installed, which as you seem to have found out, can cause conflicts with your regular security program.
