My Norton 2012 says it is not compatable with my Windows Vista OS

I get a not compatable message when I try to load Norton 2012 on my Windows Vista.  I believe I have SP1 and later on my Vista.    Why am I getting this message and what can I do to get Norton Security 2012 on my computer.

Go into the control panel and click "System".  Verify that you have SP1 or 2 installed.

I did have to load SP1 onto the system.  Thank you for your help!
