My Norton 360 says my software is inactive?

I installed Norton 360 Premier about 10 days ago on my new Windows 8 PC. It was working just fine until yesterday when I received a message in my action center stating PC issue, Antivirus not working. I ran the fix now function but it could not resolve the issue. I ran live update, the software successfully updated. When I went to run a quick scan, I received a message...product inactive,

What should I do?

Reboot did not work.

Fix it now could not fix:

auto-protect, sonar protection, incoming email and out going email.

I previously had McAfee, I removed it using the remove program utility prior to installing Norton.

I ran the Norton remove/reinstall tool. Updated the software, OK so far.

However, ran dianostics tool, found inoperable device hardware. Clicked on fix now;

USB-IF xHCI USB Host Contoller  (device type: Intel WiUSB)

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
