My Norton Account -- Exposing Personal Information

Last year I posted regarding an issue I had with My Norton Account.

http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=other&thread.id=202

What happens is that after making a change to any information in My Norton Account I receive an email from Symantec with several pieces of personal information (address, phone number, etc.). I was hoping that by bringing this to Symantec's attention, they would change the email notification to omit the personal information and just let the user know that someone changed their account information.

Well, I just updated My Norton Account again and received the same email message with the same personal information exposed in it.

I would appreciate it if someone at Symantec could  look into getting this relatively simple change implemented. It is not good for a security company (or any company for that matter) to be exposing their customer's information in this manner.

Hi Ed_in_OR,

Thanks for reminding me about this issue. Shortly after you first reported it, our team logged and researched the issue, and we’re working to get this implemented. I apologize for the delay; as you know there are many factors when it comes to changes with software, and what may seem like an “easy fix” requires many different parts of a system to change. However, we are still considering this enhancement, and have not forgotten your concerns. Thanks for your patience with this issue.

Tony,

Yes, I should know better than to assume any software fix is "easy."  :smileyhappy:

I too had forgotten about this issue but it raised its head again when I updated my account today.

I sure hope that it can be fixed as I am uncomfortable receiving emails with personal information such as this in them.

Thanks for the help and please keep me posted if a fix is implemented.
