My Norton automatic data backup won't back up

The Norton on-line backup just scans and scans my computer's files, and continues to do so even when its count of files scanned hasn't changed in an hour or two.  This is a first backup, and it apparently won't stop scanning and upload the files from my computer to Norton's secure facility. 

 

Any ideas would be helpful, including any ideas about how I could actually talk to a person at Norton about this.

Can you please tell us which Norton product you are talking about and the version of this product? Also please tell us what operating system and service pack you are using? Is it 32 or 64 bit? Thanks.
