My Norton Desktop icon opens uistub.exe. 4 yellow boxes appear (Main Menu) but immediately disappear

My Norton Desktop icon opens uistub.exe. 4 yellow boxes appear (Main Menu) but immediately disappear and are replaced by a Norton Mobile Security Screen.  I cant find any way to get back to the main menu where (for years)  I do my Norton work. Please Help. [Using Windows 8.1]

Hi ghayman, and welcome. Are you using the multi device version of 360 ?

 

If so, you could try selecting the program from your start menu, right clicking on the appropriate icon and check Run as Admiistrator.

 

That should select the 360 UI, and you can set that as your desktop icon.

This is NIS not 360 but they should be similar.

Once I click the Mobile button the screen stays that way every time I open NIS until I close that screen.

Look for the faint X that I circled.  That will return you to the main screen.

Norton 360. Win 8.1.

 

There were two "solutions" for me.

 

I found a small 'greyed out' X in the upper right corner of the horizontal scrolling section that was covering the 4 yellow box Main Menu. Clicking it made the scrolling section disappear.  But better ...

 

I later had another 'major problem' with the program which required Norton help via on line chat and an agent taking control to make a fix. [Live Update and my Identity Vault would not work.] She said that there was a 'glitch' in the program thatt she fixed. After her repair, the problem that i wrote about here, has yet to return and all currently appears well.
