Recently, I updated my current subscription account to a new version (I'm guessing) of Internet Security. When I did so, I started getting error messages that would take me to the Symantec site after attempting to shut down and restart numerous times. It had the error message and suggestions on what to do if it didn't fix the problem. Well, it required me to uninstall all the files and reinstall the new ones.
Immediately I recognized that SystemWorks would be gone. I do still have the product keys, but I guess this kind of program didn't come from a disk and I had no way of making one. Yes, this computer is old, but the product was great for all it's functions. I know that there is a "new" product out there, but I also believe that it has been changed to a subscription model? I already bought a program that worked great, but in order to protect my computer, I had to uninstall a product that worked fine?
I get it. It's a business. However, that doesn't make this any easier to take. I know they don't "offer" it any longer, but come on. This program was working fine and the new one seems like this update (past updates worked fine) was weeding out a loyal customer base.
How can I get this program back? It was a valuable tool on an older model computer. I got it back in 2004 and had Norton when I first got on the internet. I'm at a loss for words as to how to fight back against this type of consumer needling.
I realize that I may not be the first person to ask or post on this subject, but rather than revive any possible old threads, I'd rather see if anything can be done here.
