My Norton Safe Search extensions have suddenly stopped working on both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.No results come up.When I click on the safe search icon on the task bar, I get the message ERR_blocked_BY_ client.

Do you have both Norton Safe Search and Norton Home Page turned on in your extensions? If Yes then try removing them and then readding them via extension manager in Edge or Chrome.
