We have a small office server for filing and accessing those files from home. I recently had a redirect virus on my computer, even after a fresh install it was still there, so I looked around and found some website (I think it was dwcg.org), I guess it was a DNS changer virus. It was keeping me from connecting to anything that had to do with google. I used some Norton program that this dwcg site redirected me too. And it worked, so I thought I had no more redirection, it seemed to attached itself to google, I haven't been redirected anymore. Well now to my server problem, I set my server to have webaccess through its brand website (buffalonas.com).
It is a Buffalo NAS LS-WV6.0TL/R1, whenever I tried to access the server from the site I get Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage, same as I did with google. I diagnose the connection problem and it tells me it is my server refusing the connection. I checked the ports in my router (Linksys E4200) and the two ports I normally use 9000 and 9001 don't exist anymore. I can't even locate them. Even the ones I set as the open ports my server still refuses to connect to the remote FTP site. It is just my server because I can type in another server and it will connect. Do I have a similiar virus that has attached itself to my server or what! Just asking for some help here and can I protect my server with protection?
