My World of Warcraft account

Hi, I have 64 bit windows 7 38 running processes, I think I know everything that is running and hidden on my pc.

Security is Nis2011 default except performance and optimiser are turned off.

Winpatrol pro

Malware bytes anti malware scanner only

Hitman pro.

About 4 months ago my world of warcraft account locked me out, they said I was banned for selling gold, the next day they advised me my account had been hacked and used by gold sellers, I found this hard to believe as nothing had been stolen from my account and I have 10 fully geared level 80 characters.

I changed the password to something utterly remote (it wasnt even proper english)

This morning I logged in and all my characters were naked and all my gold had gone!!

Blizzard tell me I must have a keylogger?

I have fully scanned with everything and everything has come back clean.

I have never clicked a link on any e mail and use no third party add ons.

All websites i enter directly and nis handles the passwords, I do however need to key my password in on the game log in.

Anything else I can scan with? I have 14 on line games and 290 gb steam folder. Im scared to log into anything?

Do you think I have a keylogger?

How else could I have been hacked?

Thanks for reading.

just scanned with power eraser, again all clean?

Hi Stratoc!

I was just thinking to recommend you NPE :) All clean? hmm... Another thing you can do is to configure your firewall to warn you when a program tries to gain access to the internet. Pay attention to every program that requires internet access and if you want, make a list with the names of the unknown/suscpicious executables (programs). For example, you receive the alert that the file program.exe tries to access the internet. If you think it's suspicious, use the "don't allow" or even never allow option to block internet access for this program (later you can undo this if you encounter a problem), then find the location of this file, right click on that file and click "File Insight". If you encounter files with bad reputation or if very few users have the selected file, you should block it from accessing the internet.

So, you can start by turning off Smart Firewall and learn every file that requires internet access during the time you use your PC. Click Settings from NIS main screen, then under "Network Settings", turn off smart firewall.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, Both times this has happened I have been logged into the game and trading in the auction house. No other games have been compromised, Many with higher value items, I have added the blizard authenticator, however if my thereoy is correct I cannot see how this will help me.

Anyway they have given me back all my property now. I am positive my system is clean.

Fingers crossed.

Everything is known in my firewall log (if it is what it is claiming to be of course.

Thanks again.

Hello Stratoc

I would recommend that you change all your passwords in all accounts. By doing a Google search, I saw some of the topics say that even such things as a Java program that isn't up to date can cause or affect your WOW acciunt also. To minimize that possibility, I would make sure that you have the latest version of Java installed and that you delete/remove all older versions using the equivalent of add/remove in your control panel. I would also make sure that you don't have Java keep any temp files in your computer. That action may slow you down a little, but it will keep you safer in all areas. I would also make sure that you empty the trace and log files also from Java when you check the Java settings.

I have heard also that many people have had their WOW accounts hacked. There are all sorts of reasons. Thanks.

hi, i don't run java, flash and block most scripts, I try and run this pc as safe and as light as i can, this is what is puzzling me..
