Hi,
I recieved a alert from my antivirus saying it found the relatively popular mythxpak.exe trojan (yes, it is from that age of empires download, when I started extracting the .rar file). I am looking at the risk log right now and here is what it says:
The file was located in AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$EX01.299\Age of Empires II\mythxpak.exe.
The file was quarantined, and the remediation status says: "Succesful - Clean security risk failed."
The temporary file cache was unsuccessful - not quarantined nor deleted.
What does "clean security risk failed mean"?
I deleted the .rar file (though it said it was only a shortcut, which I found strange), deleted the most recent Temp files, and a few other things. I ran a full system anti-virus scan and it found nothing. Currently running Malwarebytes, and the TDSSKiller to search for rootkits found nothing (it seems this virus is known to be a rootkit) .
It looks like I my computer may have be clean. But I want to be sure. I am afraid to restart my computer as it my trigger the virus to enter my system files.
Any advice?
