Symantec, you have a serious problem.
Every now and then, seems like about once a month BUT maybe after a PATCH, my N360 Backup doubles up the backups. It's been mentioned on forums before, and the comments are clear; N360 doesn't recognize the existing backup sometimes. This has been going on for at least 2 YEARS.
This is lamentable Symantec, and your employees solution is unacceptable. The idea that we should delete the backups and start again goes AGAINST the very purpose of a backup. When the backups are deleted, the user is exposed to a failure WITHOUT backups, until the new, replacement, backup completes. MY FULL INITIAL backup takes over 5 hours. If my source fails then I am stuffed. It takes over an hour to delete my backups, so I don't, I quick format the drive.
Symantec, you need to address this issue IMMEDIATELY with a valid, correct, long-term fix. You HAVE the resources, so GET ON WITH IT !
I ALSO use FBackup 5; never doubles up. Perhaps Symantec could learn from them...
