N360 backup failed 2

I have checked the database and found one posting that was close, but not quite there.

Problem is that N360 backup quits when I start a manual re-backup (already have a backup on the drive).   Details- running Win 7x64.  PC has been recently updated.  Problem has just started (say a month).  Backup drive has a dedicated letter of V:\, not old, plenty of space.  The backup takes up only a third of the volume.  Nothing else on V:\ - dedicated drive.  When I run N360 backup and it fails, all the windows of N360, N360 backup, etc. disappear.  Even the N360 icon in the tray disappears.  Like N360 didn’t even run/operate.  No failure statements from the program.  I have to format V:\ before N360 backup would even work.  I just formatted the drive and N360 is (as I type) humming along loading a backup (1st time for N360’s point of view).  This takes a lot of time.  I thought a 2nd running would only update new or modified files.  So, what is the fix??  Thanks for any help.

I only back up when N360 says I haven't in a while.  Figure about a month between back ups.  I have a data drive with pics, vids, documents, PDF, etc.  I also back up the C:\ drive MyDocuments (what ever Windows keeps my non program stuff).  No programs are backed up (that I know of).  A fresh (after fromat) back up is below 300 gigs.  A lot of stuff I don't want to lose.  Before this problem started, N360 would go through my drives (just 2 of them) to find what has changed and saved the few additional files.  Now it just begins and totally stops/disapears within 15-20 seconds.  Note that Preview does fully work without problem.  File sizes vary.  Small to massive (HD camcorder files-gigs in size).  Again, note that prior to this problem - size did not matter.  These files have been on my PC for many years.  Hope this helps a bit.  I do have Roxio Creater 2012 on this box.

Hi jebbook.

How large is the backup drive and how much space is free on it at the moment?

Have you tried setting up a new test Backup Set with just a few files to see if that will run?  If you have and it did run successfully try adding just one file or change one file and try running it again.  Then let us know what happens.

Good luck.

Edit - what version of N360 are you running and have you tried running "Support" - "Get Support" to see if that does anything?
