I recently switched over to N360 version 21 from an older version, and ever since making the switch Online Backup has yet to successfully complete a backup.
The process starts seemingly normally, but after a while it stops with a rather uninformative status screen that simply says "Error." Upon clicking on "View Details," I get the following message:
"Make sure the destination drive or device is connected." This is ONLINE backup!! Somebody at Symantec has a sense of humor. Maybe they want me to drive over to their building and turn on their backup servers...
When I click on "More Info," I reach the following "advanced details" screen that's hardly more informative:
Used to be that, when Online Backup failed, you would get an error code and a link to click on for additional help (such as to see a troubleshooting Web page, or to chat with Tech Support). Not happening any more, apparently.
Is there something I need to do (that I was not told about during the "upgrade") to get Online Backup to work as it did before? I would have expected the changeover to be more like a seamless experience than like installing a new program from a different vendor.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions.
