N360 blocking network access after an update last week

I have N360 and it has been running fine. Last week or so and update installed that needed a reboot. Right after the reboot, the the network stopped working. Internet and LAN access.

Things I have tried that failed to solve the problem:

disabling N360 firewall and rebooting

disabling N360 and rebooting

disabling both firewall and AV and rebooting

opening all ports and protocals in N360 firewall settings and moving to top of list

 

Uninstalling N360 brings the Internet back up.

Uninstalling and reinstalling, drops the network again

uninstalling with the norton removal tool also works, but reinstalling after that drops the network again.

checked system with malware bytes full scan and no viruses found.

 

Any ideas?

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. Malware Bytes installed, but not the active protection version, just the cleanup verison. no other AV installed.
