N360 does not start after Win 8.1 wake from sleep

I currently have the latest version of Norton 360 on my Windows 8.1 laptop (very new, i7, SSD, powerful). However, I get this strange glitch where Norton 360 will not start after the laptop wakes from sleep. When I try to start 360, nothing happens for a while until an error message launches. (Error code 8504,104) The Norton toolbar and extensions in chrome also seem to be dead. Strangely, a reboot will solve the issue, but I want a fundamental solution as I like to use my laptop on the go often, which requires the use of keeping lots of programs open and sleeping/waking often to save a LOT of hassle.

Does anybody know what the nature of the problem is and how I should solve it?
