N360.exe High CPU Usage

Hi Tony,

I'll test out the download you gave me in the private message and report back.  I was able to get N360 to update to 21.1 via LiveUpdate earlier... with same results.

The entire details of my machine are in the following file uploaded earlier in the thread:

http://community.norton.com/norton/attachments/norton/Norton_360/95674/1/belarc.pdf

The PDF lists all software including version #s... I'm quite certain nothing has really changed since that was uploaded.

However, to sum it up... Windows 7 Pro installed via BootCamp on a MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz i7 (Early 2011).  Not that it should matter, but I have Mountain Lion installed for OSX, but the Boot Camp was created back when I had Snow Leopard...

Also it has 16GB RAM and a 500GB HD (partitioned into two partitions 250 for each OS)

My most recent install of N360 was installed via the download from mynortonaccount.com - then I updated it to v21 using the Norton Update Center then I downloaded the latest version via LiveUpdate to v21.1...

As stated earlier, I'll report back what happens when I install v21.1 via your download provided in PM.

Third party software that modified system... not sure what you mean...  I assume you mean how I updated my HOSTS file...

That was done with HostsMan - http://www.abelhadigital.com/hostsman
 (latest version from that site)

That's pretty much it... I also have WinPatrol running (but it still has the problems after uninstalling it).

I also uploaded the HOSTS file, which can also be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qhj9vcp968puusv/HOSTS

I'm quite certain there are no references to Norton or Symantec sites in there.. but please let me know otherwise and I'll make sure to add them to the exclusions list for the next build of the HOSTS.

Let me know if you need anything else.

OK reporting back on the direct install using the installer you provided for 21.1.0.18 - ran LiveUpdate, etc.

Exact same problems....

The only way I can get N360.exe to act normally is to use Unlocker on my HOSTS file (which it reports that N360.exe is locked onto)...

Unlocker is here: http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/

Let me know if you need any other details...
