N360, malwarebytes and conflicts...oh my

Hi there,

ok, first here are some details: New hp laptop running win8. Using my Norton 360 subscription that covers 3 pc's. (I now have it on my old and new laptops :D) Uploaded free version of malwarebytes (mwb) and use that as an extra precaution.

So, my first question is that I wanted to double check that the updated versions of 360 and mwb are they still compatible . I ask this as the recent download I think also included a 14 day trial of the full version. Just now when I visited a site mwb alerted me to having blocked a couple of intrusions? Norton didn't show anything.  I didn't think mwb did that but I guess it's because of the trial. Am not sure if it's conflicting with 360 but how would I know. If that makes sense? Did mwb stop 360 from performing by getting there first? Or should I just roll with it?

My second question is more a query as a few people have been hating on 360 ALOT and keep telling me I should get AVG or AVAST and that I'm daft for installing 360 on my new laptop as it will slow it down...yadda...yadda.

I don't do any gaming online just graphic design and have a couple of websites. Am a step up from novice and use a lot of opensource stuff etc so like to feel protected.

In my mind no av is foolproof and with any you still need a certain amount of savvy about you when opening links, downloading etc.  I don't feel silly nor slowed down for using 360 and with mwb I feel as secure as you can be if you know what I mean.

So what would be your response to those who say 360 slows down and hogs my system with unnecessary stuff and that I should use a free av that is just as good and quicker? All I can say at the moment is that I'm happy with it and that I haven't really noticed any speed issues. But it would be nice to have a more solid answer/argument that I actually understand what I'm saying as it would be nice to finally shut these people up.

Thanks

Em :)
