N360 VPN permissions

When I install N360 I get the dialog, that I've attached, asking if I should allow the VPN to communicate over public networks.

The dialog, from Windows, says this is "Not recommended".

I have never had need to use a VPN, so not familiar with them, But I may give it a try. IAnd it seems to me a public network is exactly when I would need it.

Am I correct in assuming that I should allow this specified communication by the VPN over public networks?

Thanks

That dialog came up as I was installing N360, so Defender was still active.

OK thanks for the information.

Do you have a Norton Security product on your system? That should have disabled Windows Defender.

Anyway, that dialog comes up as a protection. The firewall does not know that the app is a VPN, but just knows that an app wants to access the your network. So yes, you should allow it to communicate over public networks.
