N360Downloader crashes

Hi All

 

I've downloaded the N360Downloader.exe via Chrome (and in desperation IE) and every time I try to run it it crashes. 

 

The N360Downloader is v.3.1.0.14.

 

I'm installing it on Windows XP SP2.

 

Any ideas as to why it might be doing so or how to find out what the problem is? This is really frustrating - I've just removed my previous (valid and working) version of Norton Internet Security so I now have no protection on this machine at all.

 

I should say that I've already successfully installed 360 (on the same licence) on another PC runnning XP SP2.

Firstly, you should consider installing Service Pack 3 for XP.

That seemed to do the trick. The downloader obviously doesn't work 100% but downloading the 360 exe directly did.
