NAV 11.0 for Mac prod updates now requiring reboot nearly every time

I've had NAV 11.0 (currently running 11.1.1(2)) for about 6 months now, and lately nearly every update (I update nightly) requires a reboot.  This is a recent development, and pretty annoying.  Why the reboot requirement?
