NAV 11 does not scan Mac OS 10.5.7

Hi. I've used NAV products for a long time on my Mac. I recently updated to Mac OS 10.5.7 and thought it was time to do a manual scan. I'm using a 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5.

I can't get NAV 11 to work, though.  I've uninstalled and then reinstalled it and I have the same problem. Here is what happens:

• I open NAV 11 and select "What to scan: Entire system"

• I click "Perform Virus Scan"

• A dialog box drops down that says "Scanning 4 items" and "Starting scan..." with an animated barber-pole-type progress bar (It is correct, in that I am trying to scan 4 partitions on 2 internal drives). There is also the Apple-style "clock face" animated 'waiting' icon.

• 13 to 14 seconds later the dialog changes to "Scan completed with no viruses found." The progress bar never converts from a barber-pole-type line to a solid progressing line; it just goes away with the updated message.

• The status portion of the interface that says "Last Virus Scan Performed" always says "No scans performed". I've restarted my computer to see if this updates and it never does.

I've tried selecting volumes with the Scan "Specific files" option with the same results.  I've tried to schedule scans to see if the software will work in automatic mode, but other than the dialog box that counts down to the actual scan, I get nothing.

To me, my Preferences all look correct. Everything is set to its Default value. I've updated the software and definitions via LiveUpdate.

I've searched this forum for similar experiences but haven't found any. Can anyone help?
