Hi Vineeth,

Thank you for your reply, & sorry for the delay posting back!

I read a thread earlier on this forum regarding this problem, & there were a large number of users having a similar problem. I noticed that one user posted an image of his NAV scan at the point that his hung, & it was also this same KB938371 file, but I cannot find this thread again?

The advice given was to upgrade to the free NIS 2009 upgrade which I have done, & this seems to have fixed the problem. I have upgraded both my Vista notebook, & my XP desktop, & both seem OK.

I am wondering if this is a Vista update causing a glitch with NAV 2008.

Many thanks,

Ian.

Hi all,

It seems that I am not alone on this one, & if anyone has a fix for this exact problem, then I would be most grateful!

My notebook is running Vista Home Premium SP1, & NIS 2008 3 User edition. The scan hangs on what appears to be a file KB938371. I have attempted to run the scan 4 times, & followed the autofix of running Liveupdate, but nothing is solving this.

Many thanks.

Is the file KB938371 a zipped one?? Let us try to exclude this file and then try to run a scan.

Open Norton Internet Security> Click Norton Internet Security tab> Click settings> Under settings, click Norton Internet Security options>

In the new window, on the left pane, click Exclusion and then try to exclude the file from scanning.
