Hi all,
First time posting on this forum. A long time Norton user though, dating back to at least 1994. Remember Norton Desktop for Windows and Norton Commander? :-) I'd appreciate any suggestions on my issue. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3 with all updates installed and NAV 2010.
I noticed a few weeks ago after booting up my PC that it was taking Outlook 2007 several minutes before it would pick up my new email messages and begin responding. The Event Viewer log for System shows about 4 dozen errors right after each Windows startup, each stating "Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the NAV service."
Today Windows said I was running out of space on my boot drive, with less than 1 GB free on a 55 GB partition. I did some cleaning up and then discovered that I have a single NAV file that is almost 11.5 GB in size! The file is performance.db and it's located in folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NAV_17.0.0.136\NCW.
Clearly something has gone wrong with this file. I'd like to know what it's for and what the normal file size is. Can I rebuild or replace it? If I can't fix it, then I suppose I'll have to uninstall and reinstall NAV. Suggestions?
TIA,
