NAV 2011 18.6.0.29 disabling outgoing emails tells me to fix it. Prtevious versions had green tick

I always set NAV not to scan outgoing emails (I do know what I'm doing, this is not needed in my circumstances). Previous versions of NAV were happy with that, showing green tick on sys tray icon.

Having just updated to 18.6.0.29, not only did it, upon install, enable scanning of outgoing emails (without telling me), but when I checked through the settings (and so found out that it had changed that without my permnission), I disabled it, it shows the white on red exclamation on the systray icon and instead of the activity map, I see the large fix it button (which aso does not give any option as to what to fix, but seems to set everything to the defaults, most annoying).

Hi JRosenfeld,

I also noticed that a couple of my custom settings reverted to the defaults when the product updated to 18.6., so your experience is not unusual.  After turning off email scanning again, go to the main Norton window and hover your mouse cursor over the words, "Email Protection."  In the popup that appears, you will see the option to tell Norton to ignore the status of this setting.  Clicking "Ignore" will disable the status alerts for email scanning.

Thanks SoJ

I'd forgotten the Hover / Ignore. That does work.

Now to see if my email comes down any qucker!

Thanks, that's fixed it. I too had forgotten about that way of stopping unwanted alerts.

You're welcome.
