NAV 2011 Rebooting/Shutting down after last update

Today, Feb 3, I logged onto a computer I infrequently use. I soon saw the Windows Firewall icon indicating my virus protection was  out of date.  I continuted to work for about 30 minutes on my tasks and was expecting NAV to advise my security settings and virus definitions were out of date.  The NAV screen appeared and, when prompted, I clicked on the update and waited for the process to take place.  The system rebooted and then displayed my subscription was out of date which I know is incorrect as I have over 100 days remaining.  The system then rebooted again and this time downloaded approximately 105 MB of updates.  The system rebooted again and I logged onto Windows.   I was logged into Windows for approximately 3-4 minutes and the PC suddenly shut down and began to reboot.  Each and every subsequent time I've logged into Windows the PC shuts down and begins to reboot. Average time can be from 3-4 minutes.

So, everything was great, running smoothly until this last update.  What give and how to correct?

I've seen some posts where someone suggests using the NRT and reinstalling NAV but this PC won't stay on long enough to download the program.

Windows XP SP 2 and 3

Pentium 4 (OK don't laugh it does what I need for a particular use. You should see my other PC)

I'll be glad to provide any other info requested.
