NAV 2012 Idle time quick scans appear randomly, whilst I am actively using the PC

Nav 2012 v 19.2.0.10 on XP pro SP3.

Settings:

Idle time optimiser off

Idle time out 30 minutes (max setting)

Norton tasks notification: off

Automatic resume delay 20 minutes (max setting)

Automatic tasks delay 20 minutes (max setting)

Despite those settings idle time scans occur at apparently random times even whilst I am actively browsing, etc. I know this because the notifications of it starting and finishing show despite notifications being off (I am aware this latter is a known bug to be fixed in the next update).

I do not use automatic update, preferring to run live update manually when it suits me to do so. So it is not some automatically downloaded virus definition updates that trigger the idle time scan.

It appears that it considers the PC to be idle even if someone is actively browsing or other light tasks (e.g. reading a pdf file, oe similar), as if one had to be using the CPU extensively before it accepted that PC was being used.

I find it extremely annoying because idle time scans also slow my PC noticeably.

If I turn on silent mode for 1 day (max setting) that stops it, but when I restart my PC the following morning that setting is off again and a pesky idle time scan slows the restart process to the extent that I have to wait five minutes before the PC becomes useable. (usual boot time is ~90 seconds).

Please make it possible to turn off idle time scans for 24 hours or completely. I really do not need this paranoid approach foisted on me of scanning my PC (never infected in two decades) several times a day .
