Recently upgraded my NAV to Version 21.1.0.18, and ever since then, the NAV System Tray Icon Does Not Appear on Startup. Only after manually launching NAV will the NAV System Tray Icon Appear.
I double-checked the Win7 "Customize Notifications Icons" to see if there had been any settings changes, and it was still set to "Show Notifications and Icons" for NAV, so I don't understand why the NAV 2014 Version 21.1.0.18 System Tray Icon is Not Appearing on Startup.
Please advise on a solution to this problem. I verified that the NAV program is present and running, but the NAV 2014 Version 21.1.0.18 System Tray Icon is just Not Appearing on Startup.
You might like to try setting boot time protection to aggressive, then click apply, click ok, close all programmes and restart the computer.

Thanks for the prompt reply. After setting boot time protection to "aggressive" and rebooting, the NAV 2014 System Tray Icon Promptly Appeared on Startup. I will monitor additional, subsequent restarts/reboots to see that the NAV 2014 System Tray Icon continues to appear normally on Startup and report back.
Until Symantec releases a fix for all modes of Boot Time Protection, you can switch to Normal or Aggressive depending on the level of protection you need without much affecting your pc's boot performance.
No need to apologize, as you said reading thru 5 pages of posts and none of the posts being marked as the solution to make it easy to follow to the conclusion is no picnic. Beside in the original poster's eyes, the situation is probably seen as not solved.
You found something that solved your situation, so if you desire you can mark the post that solved your situation as the solution in your thread and the OP in the other thread can leave their's open if the desire until Symantec provides a soluton to their satisfaction.
You marking a post as the solution will let others know what worked for you, save them from reading 5 pages - unless thay are interested in the background and assist them getting their system bck working as they expect it to.
