NAV 21.1- Is it normal to continue to get MS win7 Malicious software warnings on top of NAV running?

Or do I need to run a complete system scan?

I made sure I was uipdated and ran a quick scan.

Or is it possible a malware/trojan is excluded from NAV?

do you recommend using both? (MS malicious software removal tools and NAV)

thanks

The Windows MRT is downloaded once each month and runs a quick scan.  If it finds anything it may prompt you to run a full scan.

MRT will not interfere with NAV.  I allow MRT to download and scan each month when Microsoft release their patches.

It is possible that something got past NAV and was found by MRT.  It is impossible for any AV to detect and stop every malicious program when they are released by the 1000's each and every day.

MRT does not run in real-time, so I'm not sure what you mean by "Malicious software warnings on top of NAV".  Can you explain that for us?

Thanks greatly for quick response!

"MRT on top of NAV"; was refering to running both the Windows MRT w/NAV.installed. (as if they were independent AVs)

I didnt realize the MRT came monthly.

Clearly its already been running without any conflict(s) arising.

I do understand that malware can slip by any (even the best/most up to date) AV.
