Does anyone know of a Norton AV product that'll work with win7 x64 that just does virus scanning/auto protect? I tried NAV2K10 and it was horrendously bloated and overbearing. I do not wish my AV scanner to decide when it feels like scanning, I'm more than happy to initiate scanning when I want it.
I'm currently running NAV 2K8 since that's the last NAV product that I actually liked, but it's not very happy playing with win7 x64. Right now, I'm probably going to have to deinstall NAV and move to a competitor product.
Just to confirm, I'm looking for a NAV version that will just do virus scanning/auto protect, without the idle time stuff and other obtrusive behaviour. (I also do not care for SONAR and other real-time heuristic scanning).
