I want to update my Norton AV program. I downloaded the AutoDetectPkg.exe file, then the Downloader.exe file. Ran it, and when it told me to restart I did so but my system hung on the Welcome screen. Powered off, but nothing appeared on screen. Powered off again, started in Safe Mode, did a System Restore. My Windows 7 now opens, but when I run the AutoDetectPkg.exe file it says "Could not find Norton products for upgrade..."
The NAV program is a 3-user version from 2008 that I've updated regularly, and updating recently worked on 2 new laptops I just bought, but on my older desktop I had the problem described above. So, how can I update a program that the updater can't find?
