NAV2009 and Windows Firewall

I wish I'd found this answer without bothering you guys, but couldn't.

First some background.  I have used NAV for as long as I can remember.  I currently have XP Pro SP3 and have just upgraded my NAV2008 to 2009 per the subscription upgrade offer (which, by the way, went flawlessly).  Please note, I said NAV2009, not NIS2009.  When they started adding internet worm protection, I always disabled it because I felt it was a software firewall and was more comfortable with Windows Firewall (which I always re-enabled after installing the then latest version of NAV).  I felt worm protection was a firewall because when you looked at the rules, they sure looked like firewall rules to me and I figured having every packet inspected by two firewalls was going to slow my computer down (not to mention be redundant).  I disabled Intrusion Prevention in NAV 2009 assuming it was also a firewall.

So a few questions:

1) Was internet worm protection in pre-2009 Norton AntiVirus, in fact a firewall of some type?

2) Did they remove any trace of firewall security from NAV2009?

3) What is Intrusion Prevention and should I re-enable it and also run Windows Firewall?

Lastly, while many of you would like to suggest a firewall other than Windows Firewall, please don't, since that isn't the point of this question.  I'm not interested in installing NIS or another software firewall.  Windows Firewall coupled with the rudimentary firewall and NAT in my DSL router seem to work just fine.

Thanks,

Chris
