NAV2010 automatically downloaded NAV2011; installation incomplete and internet acces cut off

Hello NAV users,

I suspect I may not be the only person this has happned to...

Last night as I was about to shutdown, a popup appeared indicating that the new NAV2011 was available and had been downloaded under my previous purchase of NAV2010.  I had recieved no email from Norton or clicked on any links.  I hadn't even opened NAV2010 or manually run live update in severl months.

I closed everything, and then allowed the installation to take place.  BIG MISTAKE!  After the install, the system restarted and I logged in.  There was a new icon on the desktop for NAV2011, but it did nothing when clicked.  There was also no system tray icon indicating it was running.  Even clicking on the actually program the shortcut icon was pointing to did not start anything.

More problematic, all internet access had been cut-off.  Fortunately I was able to do a system restore to a few days ago and got my internet access back, but the NAV2011 installation also seems to have disabled the NAV2010 version.  So now I am basically working with no NAV protection (as far as I can tell).

Any ideas??  Should I download and run the Norton Removal tool?  Should I remove then reinstall NAV2010, THEN run the update to get NAV2011.

Very frustrating, since the product has been running beautifully since forever.
