Hi again NY1986
Does the amount of rundlls match the number of cookies fixed by Norton?had a look again after Norton picked up the cookies and the rundlls matched the cookies that were fixed.I usually use adaware 2008 free version to remove the cookies and only recently Norton has been picking them up,so to my way of thinking the rundlls have only appeared since I have been using Norton to fix them.hope this makes sense.i don't have a tech explanation but I'm trying to use my commonsense,I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm off base.glad you did your post thou as I'm not so worried now as there seems to be an easy answer.
cheers Mo
I notice that when I run a quick or full system scan with my NAV2008 and it detects a tracking cookie,
that I find the following in my activity log. I know the Navw32.exe is accessing the internet to transfer the information to Norton regarding the tracking cookie. thats cool. But not sure why so many rundll32.exe instances. Can anyone shed light on this?
Does Navw32.exe use that many dll files? All my Norton scans are clean except for tracking cookies. My spybot scans are clean as are my windows defender antispyware scans

Hi NY1986
I have noticed a lot of rundll32 activity as well, there was an entry in the firewall logs that it created a rule on the 8/28/08,I'm taking a stab in the dark maybe to do with a new update?mine also run nearly every second for about 8 sec then only in pairs every so often,so I get a log file that looks like the one you are showing except the navw32 is before or after.I Don't think this helps you but I was going to ask the same queston eventually.
cheers Mo
