When trying to run NBRT from DVD on my Windows 10 laptop, I got the above error. NBRT can't continue further. Anyone else has run into this issue before? Greatly appreciated for a solution. Thanks.
I had exactly the same problem. After trying many things, I attempted to disable hibernation on command prompt and that is when I noticed that the drive letters of all my hard disks were somehow changed. E.g. the SSD where the OS is installed was changed from C to X.
After I changed the letters back to the original ones, NBRT ran without any trouble. Instructions on how to change drive letters on command prompt can be found here.
NBRT didn't find any problem. So, I assume, not being able to boot was not a virus/malware problem. However, I still couldn't able to boot and later found that the drive letters changed automatically again (C became D, etc.). After spending almost eight hours on this, I am still looking for a solution.
If you think your system is infected, it may be best to jump to one of the free malware removal sites I suggested. They can first get you into your system and then they can check for infections.
If you are going to use one of these sites, do not try any more on your own, as it can make it more difficult for the experts if you have partially removed things.
Thx. I will work through your suggestions. I am not sure on EUFI... but I am pretty sure I had to move away from legacy in order to allow a USB Boot (or even DVD boot).
I did expect my next step to be a Win 10 boot option and start-up repair. First I have to find one of my 16 Gig or higher USB sticks ;-)... but my concern then was if the system is infected it may not do much for me or may make things worse. Figured it better to try and get some kind of scan going first.
Are you using the EUFI settings in the BIOS? If so, try going into the BIOS settings and setting them to Legacy.
Do you have a Windows install media available? If so, try booting that and doing a Windows Startup Repair.
If that does not help, try one of the free malware removal sites we recommend. They have the tools to get into an unbootable system. Choose one and stay there until your system is clean.

Just a blank screen. Doesn't boot up.
What error are you getting when you try to boot to Windows?
Many thanks, Bobby. Your trick above,in fact, solved this problem after all!
Unfortunately, however, I decided to switch over to another AV solution, mainly due to lack of adequate support from Norton. If you work for Norton, perhaps this could help the company save other customers in the future. My compliment to you!!!
Also, thanks to the others who made a good effort of trying to help me.
If you're able to start Windows (unlikely I know), go into Power Options and disable Fast Startup before restarting with NBRT.
The new Linux-based NBRT version is shipped with several utility tools including a web browser and command-line tool. No more special tool like NBRTWizard is required to create a bootable media with the latest antivirus definition. Users can directly download the NBRT ISO image and load it to a bootable media of their choice: DVD or USB. Once started, the new version checks for the availability of newest antivirus definitions and automatically updates the product.
Sorry, NBRT is low use Tool. I've never needed NBRT.

Yes, tried 2 new different DVDs. Btw, I have a Samsung UEFI-enabled laptop.
Sorry, I've not seen any NBRT error message.
Did you start out with new ISO and new DVD
Yup, did that and NBRT kept coming back with the same error. Got stuck in that loop.
and did you > Press OK to reboot into Windows and turn off hibernation.
