Need a little help

I downloaded and installed the MSDN Visual C# IDE for desktop, 2013.  everything was fine. then I also downloaded and installed some more software which I thought I might need.

first, the screen savers just stopped.  and I got that message that said, "the blank blank screen saver has stopped working.  windows is checking for an issue, yadayadayada..."

fine.  who really needs a screen saver anyway.

then, the C# IDE just stopped, then I thought I'd run some virus check, and got the same "norton security has stopped..yadayadayada...."

so I figured there must be some software conflict somewhere so I uninstalled stuffed I downloaded on the date I noticed the "stopped working" alert, and just for good measure, I also uninstalled the Norton software and downloaded it again from Comcast.

Did the restart and all that, and tried to run Norton again, and I still have that "norton has stopped working...."

has anybody ever gotten this issue before, and how did you go fix it ?

Hey Gang,

I am a little new to this software but after reading about it I decide to try it out. So I used the copy my hard drive feature of Norton ghost. Now the drives or partitions were not where the OS is located it was just video files, but when I tried to put the files back my computer sees the dirve as being empty. Anyone got any ideas?

Norton Ghost is predominately a computer backup software so it is essential to first copy the computer.

To do that you need to open Ghost and click on the "Tasks" tab and select "One Time Backup" highlight your primary drive containing the O/S and applications and run a backup.

It is recommended to run the backup or recovery point onto an external drive preferable contained in a folder when that is done your computer is fully backed up.

If you could post a pic of your disk management by right clicking on the computer icon and select manage and then Disk Management and use the little green tree to post it.

Agreement makes a stronger arguement - hope the user can follow the instructions and we can solve the problem

Glad you're here to help me :smileywink:

I don't know why they go for "Copy My Hard Drive" option first it beats me.

I will be away from the computer for about 3 hours now, we just need to get him to back up properly first of all.

Hopefully he will post disk management and then take it from there.

Edit:  see you later on

Hey Guys,

Sorry For the late return.  What I was trying to do was move my data off my system via some new hard drives i just bought for a different build. So that i may reconfigure my system to set up some fault tolerance. Now My OS is windows 7 ultimate 64 bit which is on an ssd drive. What i did was i took my 2 new 3tb drives and moved all of my data which was split into 2 partitions by the way. I put 1 partition each to each one of the 3tb drives using Norton ghost copy my drive then I configure my drives that are in my system for  a mirrored set and when i went to put my data back on what i got was blank 3tb drives that had to be reinitialized

Yes I know what you are saying,:smileylol:

but initially a more detailed explanation of what you are doing would have been very helpful, see RedKs post.

When new users purchase Ghost it always pays to ask a few questions before you proceed to use software you are not familiar with, that way you are forewarned of any pitfalls.

Norton Ghost is very good at what it is designed to do and that is back up computers first and foremost.
