Need advice deciding between 360 v3.0 and NIS 2009

Hi, I am thinking of switching from other brand of antimalware product to a Symantec/Norton product now that NAV is faster and lighter on resources. It is precisely my experience with managing PCs with older versions of NAV and seeing such performance degradation that I stayed away fron NAV on my own PCs.

I wanted to know if Norton 360 v3.0 is as fast as scanning and as adjustable/tweakable as NIS 2009. From the reviews on PCMag and CNet, it seems that 360 tries to simplify things so that users can be more hands-off. I want to be able to make fine adjustments to firewall and what programs can access the PC using which protocols over what ports. While I don't need the backup features, the registry cleanup and startup optimizations can be nice amenities.

TIA,
