Hello, I have read an article about the Norton power eraser and it seems would be very helpful for me, because I think that my PC was infected with spyware. I have opened email sent from my friend with zip file and than strange things have started. Computer started to work slower, strange sites appears on the screen, some kind of toolbar appeared in Firefox . I am not sure how to remove those things from the computer. Thinking of buying "Norton Power eraser". What do you think about that product? Will it help me to solve the PC issues? Would be nice to receive some feed backs and recommendations about this product. Thank you in advance.
You are welcome.
Please let us know how it goes and if you need more help.
Thank you very much for the answer, Peterweb.
You do not buy Norton Power Eraser, NPE. It is included with your Norton Security product.
It is a more aggressive tool than the regular Norton product scans, and if you do not know about the files it may want to remove, it could leave you with an unbootable computer.
For a safer alternative to NPE, I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
Be sure you do not accept the offer of the free trial of the Premium version.
