Need answer re NIS for Mac while using Parallels and Windows

Will NIS for Mac protect me while using Parallels and Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro or do I need NIS specific for Windows?

The short answer is no, the Mac product will not completely protect the Windows VM under Parallels. You may be able to get some protection if you can scan the Windows partition manually from the Mac OS (offhand I'm not sure how), but you would not have any automatic protection.
