First of all, thank you Symantec for your great products.
Now here's the thing, I know it's a lot to read but please bear with me.
Some days ago my main PC gave up on me and I had to send it in to get it fixed.
However, before sending it in, I bought a SATA Casing for my hard drive to backup my data with Norton Ghost, because the drive would be erased.
I was able to access the data on my Windows drive through a different PC.
My idea was to create an image of the C drive of my broken pc, which was now recognised as an external drive, and restore this image, bootable and all, when my PC got back.
So I made a backup with Norton Ghost 15 onto an external hard drive, but when the backup was completed, I saw in the report that Restore Anywhere was not enabled.
I was wondering if this could be a problem if I were to restore the backup of what Windows thinks is a Non-Boot drive to a boot-drive.
Also, my PC may have a new and different motherboard or graphics card in it when it comes back.
Will this be a problem with drivers and such?
So the main question is, can this be done with Norton Ghost 15, which does not have the Restore Anywhere option, or would I have to use different software?
Thank you in advance,
