Hi,
I have tried to set up a multi boot partition usiing an backup image.
Original drive C: all working fine. Saved image.
I partitioned the physical drive using EASEUS and named the new partition L:
Restored the original C: image to new partition L:
After the process was complete I booted into C: ok and I changed the partition, computer names and partition numbers in the boot.ini Everything seemed to be functioning ok then I realised while running windows update (update failed) that the newly cloned drive (L:) references the other partition (C:). Running msconfig and looking at the startup tab all programs reference C: not L: The original backup was of the C: drive so I presume that this is the issue. Is there any way of using the image without having the new partition reference the original?
I have tried setting up multi boot from windows xp install but it doesn't seem to recognise any partitions and only gives me the option to setup to the whole physical disk.
I.e. Disk 1 is 500GB partitioned into two primary drives.250GB each. Windows setup doesn't clearly show drive labels that I have set so how would I know which drive is the correct one?
I realise this is more than just a Norton support question but I'm hoping as ghost has always worked for me in the past that all the work arounds I have tried may be overcome with ghost alone.
Many Thanks
