It's likely that there are permissions problems with your account on this system.  What version of Windows is this?  Do you a screenshot of the message?  Which scan are you attempting to modify?

Windows Vista. I just upgraded to SP1 and still have the same Issue. It actually happens when I click on "Settings".

I also have a issue when trying to clear Windows Temp Files, Internet Explorer Temp Files, and Internet Explorer History. It gives an error "Attempt to load the cleanup engine failed".I do not have this issue when I run it from the local admin account as opposed to the domain admin, so you may be right that it is a permission issue. But I do not know what to change to fix this.

It looks like your Network Administrator has locked down permissions to certain areas/services.  It's a good bet there's a network policy on the Terminal Service (causing the failure to load engine error) as well as the system TEMP and Temporary Internet Files folders.  Domain policies are enforced when you log onto the domain, so unfortunately you'll have to have a discussion with the admin to correct matters under the domain account.

I am the admin and I setup this server. I never set any policy restricting access to N 360. Since the other users get the popup asking for the username and password for the admin account, I dont see how this could be the cause.

I must be missing something here as your previous post mentions that the localadmin does not give a prompt.  How did you set up the domain accounts?  I wasn't describing limits on the program, but the user.  The application is trying to perform an action that it is not being granted permissions for.  While logged in as the domain admin, I would check the Terminal Service and make sure that the problemattic domain user has permissions to run it.

Right, the local admin account does not give a prompt, but it does allow me to run the scans properly.

When logged onto the domain user account, there is no prompt and does not give access.

Shouldn't it at least give a prompt for an admin to run the scan even though a user is logged on?

I don't believe the restriction on the user account is the cause. If the user is on another system, they get the prompt. If any user tries to scan from this system they do not get a prompt for the admin logon. So if it is a restriction, it is probably on the system not the user. I have checked though group policy and I do not see anything restricting the user. Anywhere else to check?

Check through Services.msc.  If you check the properties for the Terminal Service you more than likely do not have the non-admin domain user listed.  You'll need to add the user.

having the same issue but there is no error message about the administrator. I just get the “attempt to load cleanup engine failed”. Should I just reinstal or is there another fix I can try?

I recommend starting a new thread, but try checking in services.msc and see if "Terminal Services" is disabled.  If disabled, enable and then try again.

Ok, this may sound dumb but I do not see a disable/enable...how would I enable it?

Thanks

Check the “state”.  It needs to say “Started.”  You won’t see stop or start until you select the service.

Worked perfectly…thanks so much!
