New to the forum, and any advise would be appreciated.
With hindsight i know i have made some terrible mistakes by not making some newer hard copies on DVD's. This Thecus N4100PRO has run Flawless Since July 2009, no problems until this happened. I normally check the display everytime I come into my room where the desktop is at and the Display shows RAID is healthy. This day it showed healthy but had a red light. So i went into NAS to check the drives and 1 drive was in warning, so i run the test on it and it checked ok. I went to Thecus site to check for dowloads or upgrades because i haven't done this in awhile and there was firmware update. At this point yes i should have backed up my data!
When i completed the upgrade and rebooted the nas, and i logged backed in.
Shortley after logging in i got a steady beep on the NAS, went to the disk information area and i had lost a drive, started running the test on it system went into a degraded mode. Failed drive tested ok so i went to put it back into the configuration with the other drives and after building the raid up to about 90% another drive hollers it has failed, which blew my raid. That drive also test ok. Now the system will not let me do anything until i build another raid which will destroy any data that is left on my 4 hard drives. Is there anyway to retrieve the data off the hard drives and then build the raid? Desperate grandparents here!!
